Marriage is not a cake walk, add in the military and it is like a whole different lifestyle. Haha just kidding...but really, until your spouses contract is over they're kind of like a yes man and you just follow them wherever they go and support them 100% in what they have to do. For example; while Chaytin was in tech school, we waited and waited to get orders and finally did a few months before we were supposed to leave. We were so excited because we were going to be going back home to Texas!! We were looking at houses, talking to family about it...and thennnnn about a month or two before C graduated, his orders changed. We found out our new home was going to be in Minot, North Dakota. Not only did we have to change our plans, we moved in literally a week!!!!

But, being married to someone in the military is also such a great thing. We have gotten to live in three different states together already, we have made so many lifelong friends, and whenever something comes at us unexpectedly we are able to handle it together as a couple. There are times when I have felt so lonely, like when he was at BMT but during that time I met so many other wonderful people that were going through the same thing I was and even met one of my closest friends. The people you meet and the relationships you make in the military are such an awesome thing because you go through deployments, and things like that together and you have your next door neighbor or your husbands co-workers wives to relate to.

I have heard and still hear so much negative things about dating or marrying someone in the military, and yes there are some hardships but nothing that a strong relationship can't get through. When I first moved to Mississippi, I had to learn to do so many things I had never done before, it was the first time I lived on my own and it was kinda scary. The wives were very welcoming and the people on base were so helpful so it was easier to get more comfortable there. I am still adjusting to Minot, I have not met many people and don't get out much but that is thanks to this virus, Target being 30 minutes away and me being 8 months pregnant haha.

So if you hear a bunch of negative things about the military, or marrying someone in the military...don't listen to any of it. You get to experience so many things and so many places with your best friend.
